Anytime I am in Kinnegad, I usually pop into Scanlon's for a bite to eat as they are pretty good with their food. Settled down at bar, got my pint of Guinness, which was great, and ordered a home made Lasagne served with coleslaw, salad, and chips..... To be honest it didn't look great, but what it lacked on the eye it certainly made up for in the taste. Fantastic, a nice balance in tastes, and well filling....... top marks as usual for the food, and of course the pint! Service was friendly and efficient. The only negative was the music blaring out, on an early Saturday afternoon. I never thought that hip hop and rap was so down in Kinnegad...... and I certainly didn't notice too many gangsta's in the bar at the time, who would have guessed! Brackens up the road had no music and let people enjoy their food and pints in peace........ something to think about maybe....the next time in the town.....(just saying).

Had an Irish breakfast here. Service was quick, staff member was very helpful as well. They were able to accomodate preferences as well, i.e., no puddings and extra egg. Breakfast for two people come at around 22€ including coffee and tea too. So it is not that expensive.

My saughter and I stopped by Scanlons in Kinnegad to try their famous breakfast. We were not disappointed!!! I ordered a breakfast roll and my daughter the full irish breakfast. Our tea arrived within minutes by a friendly waitress who had a chat with us. There was a few in the pub and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. I enjoyed the breakfast roll with bacon, sausage, egg and black pudding and the irish breakfast was as expected a plate loaded with bacon , sausage, egg, black and white pudding, hash brown , beans with toast. We had a feast!!! The food waz hot, delicious, and the tea was gorgeous, just what we wanted on a cold rainy morning. Less than 20 euro for the breakfast for two was fantastic. Service was quick and super friendly. Scanlons are now our go to place for breakfast but we cant wait to try their lunch menu andvtheir early bird A la carte dinner menu. 100% recommended.
